Located in the interior of BC Canada you’ll find Big White Resort. Kelowna is the largest city in the Okanagan Valley with Big White Resort only 56 km away. The best way to get to Big White Resort is fly into Kelowna International Airport and then its a 1 hour drive by hiring a car or taking a shuttle bus. The flight from Vancouver to Kelowna is only a 45 minute flight, making it a relatively easy trip for International travellers to visit.

Car Hire

Big White Ski resort  has heaps of free parking if you are driving to the resort from Kelowna. There are 6 rental car companies available at Kelowna International Airport including National,  Budget, Avis, ACE, Enterprise and Hertz. Most of the car rental suppliers offer one way rentals or to return your rental at another location. There may be additional costs for the one way option.

Big White Ski Resort is 56 km southeast of Kelowna taking approximately 50 minutes to drive. 

Be mindful when you are driving to Big White of snowy road conditions. There can also be wildlife spotted on the roads such as elk and moose and maybe even bears if it’s closer to the end of the season when they are coming out of hibernation.

Shuttle Bus

Shuttles from Kelowna Airport will whisk through the mountains in less than an hour. The hosts at Big White Central Reservations (shuttle company) will wait for guests to arrive at the arrival lounge to help direct travellers to the correct shuttle.

Getting Around Big White

Once you have arrived at Big White Resort you will not need a car as the main village is car-free. The snow is generally packed down and the village is groomed for easy walking. Big White has a free shuttle bus that travels around the resort from 7-11 am and 4-10 pm. Lara Gondola is free for pedestrians to access as a quick means of transportation between Happy Valley and the mid-mountain village.
