The nearest airport to Squaw Valley is Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) located an hour drive away. Alternative options are Sacramento International Airport which is 2 hours away and San Francisco International Airport that is 3.5 hours away.

Car Hire

Squaw valley is a 3.5-hour drive from San Francisco or a one-hour drive from Reno airport. If you fly into LA, there are regular connections to Reno International Airport and there are regular shuttles to Squaw. Alternatively, you can fly into San Francisco and you can rent a car and make the easy 3.5-hour drive. 

You’ll find rental companies such as Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental located at Reno International Airport.

Shuttle Bus

From Reno-Tahoe International Airport you can take a shuttle with North Lake Tahoe Express. Located in the baggage claim area between doors A & B you can easily find your shuttle. The travel time takes 1-1.5 hours to get to Squaw Valley Resort.

Getting Around Squaw

The Mountaineer is a 9-seater van that offers complimentary intra-valley transit for any in-valley rider. The service is an on-demand, app based transit service available to guests of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows You can summon Mountaineer from anywhere within each valley, and Mountaineer will take you wherever you need to go within that valley. For example, you can take Mountaineer from SnoVentures at Squaw Valley back to the Resort at Squaw Creek, or at Alpine. The Mountaineer operates from the beginning of December through until April.

SnoVentures Shuttle is a shuttle that runs continuously between the base area of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. The shuttle runs more often on weekends and during holidays.
